This Saturday morning as we embrace July, 2017 (laced with GST), I am sharing a brief note on
“Why Love is Blind” from the perspective of Psychology.

I’ve been reading articles around it and videos enunciating the sheen and plight of it.
We’ve seen in Bollywood movies, when a girl is in a romantic relationship she is ready to fight her parents and society so that she could be with the boy. She is ready to take an audacious stand which is in stark contrast to her otherwise timid personality.
At this time her “Testosterone” levels( Testosterone is the primary male sex hormone) increase  as a result of which she can battle the world like Spartans ;)

On the other hand, the boy who is in love with the above mentioned girl becomes caring towards her who otherwise may be an indifferent individual to speak of.
At this time his Estrogen (Primary Female Sex Hormone) levels starts spiraling upwards, as a result of which the Boy who is in love with the girl becomes more caring, compassionate and empathet
ic towards her.
So with surges in Testosterone levels of the Girl and Estrogen levels of the Boy, they both come at par with each other.  Hence that relationship ensues happily ever after  J ( supposedly )

Another interesting fact, we’ve heard that “Love is Blind”. As per Science, it can be scientifically proven.
People report that they can hardly see any flaws/ mistakes in the romantic partners that they are in love with; at that point in time. They also end up saying that, they can’t think properly when they are in their partner’s presence. Their brain is analogous to a “Tossed Salad”

We are already aware of the concept of Left Brain and Right Brain, whereby;
Left Brain is Analytical in nature and Right Brain is Emotional.
As per Science, it is said that when you are in presence of your romantic partner / or you are in love with someone, there is less of blood flow to the Left Brain and more of blood flow to the Right Brain.
As a result of which you can’t see flaws in your Romantic partners, cause of Right Brain dominating that phase. After spending some time in the relationship, your left Brain again has more of Blood supply which makes you analyze your choice of partner.

Hence they rightly  say “Love is Blind”
